The Staff Spotlight is Stephanie Lindsay. Her favorite food is pizza; she said because it can be fresh or cold. Stephanie’s favorite animal is dogs because they are great company she said. I asked what her favorite book, movie, and song is, and she said she loves about any book written by Nicholas Sparks, and her favorite movie is Mrs. Doubtfire. She just loves about any red-dirt country song. Stephanie enjoys riding horses and roping in her free time. I asked Stepanie if she had any kids and she said she has a dog and that is her child: her dog’s name is Vegas. Stephanie’s role model is her mom because she is a wonderful, hard-working woman that has always been a rock in her life. What Stephanie likes about Moscow the most is that the people have been very warm and welcoming. Her favorite part about working at Moscow Schools is that she enjoys working in a small school because it is very personal, and she gets more one-on-one with the students.

![]() by Brock Brazeal, Junior The 10th grade spotlight is Amir Granillo, A.K.A. El Gato. Amir has 7 people in his family; that’s including him. There are his mom, dad, Aaron, Gaby, Adan, and Diego. In Amir’s free time he likes to hang with all his friends, sleep, eat, and play video games. Amir’s favorite class is history because it is easy, and there are not very many students in there. Amir’s favorite movie is Fast 6 because he likes all the Fast and Furious movies, and he also likes the cars that they drive. Amir participates in football, basketball, and baseball. Amir’s favorite color is blue; when I asked him why, he replied, “because it’s the color of the sky.” Amir is 15 years old, and his birthday is on July 17. Amir’s favorite song is “I want to be with You,” and his favorite music artist is Future. When I asked Amir if he liked going to school in Moscow, he said, “Yes, because all my friends go to school here, and it is a small school.” Amir wants to go to college after high school and become a sports nutritionist or go into sport meds. ![]() by Brock Brazeal, Junior The 3rd grade spotlight is Zayden Dorsey. Zayden is 8 years old, and he has a birthday on July 6. Zayden attends the after school program, and his favorite activities are getting to play all the games with the other students. Zayden’s favorite thing to do after school is play Xbox; his favorite game to play is Halo 4. Zayden has two favorite colors, and they are red and blue. When I asked him why he said “just because.” Zayden’s favorite T.V show is Kick Buttowski, when I asked him why, he replied, “Because it is funny and cool.” Zayden’s favorite subject is math. When I asked him why he said “just because.” Zayden likes attending Moscow Grade School. He likes getting to do all the fun activities. He has attended one other school and that was Satanta. This edition’s spotlight is Ginny Titus. She has been married to Wayne Titus for 19 years. Her parents are Jeff Cox and Elinor Morris Findley. She has two younger siblings Julie (who lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) and Weston (who lives in San Antonio, Texas). She has three children, Parker (who is 16 and a sophomore),Vivian (who is 13 and a 7th grader), and Hudson (who is 5 and in Pre-Kindergarten). Mrs. Titus teaches Pre-Kindergarten four mornings a week. When I asked Mrs. Titus what her favorite thing about working on the staff at Moscow was, she said, “One of my highlights so far has been the privilege to work with Mrs. Cecenas. She is wonderful in the classroom with the kids.” After her daughter was born prematurely, she was inspired to learn more and teach early intervention and education. She went to college at Kansas University (KU). She originally majored in Biology, and she wanted to go to a good science school, and she got her masters from Emporia State. When I asked Mrs. Titus what she does in her free time, she said, “My time is spent with my three children. I am truly blessed and love spending time with my family. If I actually have free time, I like to read and love having girls night out with my friends.” by Hailey White, Junior
Megan Whetstone is this week’s spotlight. Megan is an 8-year-old second grader at Moscow Grade School. Her favorite subject in 2nd grade is Math. She loves it because it’s lots of fun. After school Megan attends the after school program; she loves going because she gets to get her homework done, and she gets to play games. When she gets done with the after school program, Megan likes to go home and watch Disney Channel. I asked her if she had a favorite show and her response was “I like all of them.” Megan likes going to school in Moscow because everyone is nice and she is a “Wildcat.” Megan has many members in her family; she has James, her brother; Heather, her mom; Pat ,her grandma; and Mick, her grandpa. Megan’s favorite colors are pink and green because they are fun and bright. She also likes all of the colors in the rainbow. by David Miramontes, Sophomore
This junior spotlight is Alexis Manriquez. Alexis is 16 years old and turns 17 on the 26th of February. Alexis likes to eat a lot; his favorite food is menudo because it’s good, and it tastes like Mexican heaven. He describes Mexican heaven as Menudo everywhere. Alexis likes to listen to a lot of country music. He says it is “feel good music.” His favorite country songs are “All Over the Road” and “Boys of Fall” because they are great country songs. Alexis has one fear and said that his biggest fear is the fear of being a failure. Alexis likes also likes a lot of shoes; his favorite brand of shoes is Nike because they are sweet. Alexis’ favorite sport is football because he enjoys everything about it. Offensive and defensive, his favorite position is fullback. Alexis’s favorite music artist is Carrie Underwood, because she is sexy! Alexis’s favorite color is blue, and he would like to travel to China one day because he likes Chinese food and Chinese people. The Senior spotlight is Morganne Owens. She is 17 years old. She is the daughter of Jennifer and Howard Owens. She has 7 members in her family. Morganne’s favorite subject is any science except chemistry. Her favorite colors are pink and black because it makes her look good. Morganne’s favorite TV show is Bar Rescue and her favorite movies are the Fast and the Furious movies. Her favorite artists are Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole. I asked Morganne what her favorite thing to do in her free time was and she said she doesn’t have free time, but she loves working. The Junior Spotlight is Krystian Rios. He is 16 years old. He is the son of Synthia and Tony Rios. There are 5 members in Krystian’s family. Krystian’s favorite color is blue. His favorite subject is math because it is his easiest class. Krystian’s favorite TV show is American Dad and his favorite movie is This is the End. Krystian’s favorite song is “Strange Clouds” by B.O.B. Daisy Karina Flores is a senior at Moscow High School. Daisy’s favorite artist is and always will be Gerardo Ortiz; she likes all of his songs. Daisy likes him because she likes his singing, and she thinks he is cute. Daisy’s favorite movie is Hangover 3; she likes it because it is hilarious and she likes Mr. Chow. Daisy has three brothers named Ismael, Beto, and Fablon. Daisy also has one sister named Yamile. Then there are her mom and dad. Daisy’s favorite thing about high school is that she is a senior at Moscow High School and that it’s her last year in Moscow Schools. Daisy’s favorite thing to do in her free is to hang out with her friends, Paloma, Berenice, Kendra, Brianna, and Marki. Her favorite color is purple. Daisy does not like to watch TV. Daisy’s favorite subject is Spanish III because she gets to make fun of Miss Daniels all of the time in class. This spotlight is Gaby Granillo; he is a 14-year-old eighth grader at Moscow High School. Gaby’s favorite song is “Problems” by Asap Rocky 2Chainz. He likes the song because 2Chainz is in it. His favorite movie is the Goonies. He likes the Goonies because he likes the Chinese guy and Chunk when he does the Truffle Shuffle. Gaby has six people in his family; he has his mom, dad and four brothers. His favorite thing about Moscow Jr. High is that it’s his last year in junior high. He also likes it because he gets to play sports and hangout with his friends in school. Gaby’s favorite thing to do on his free time is to play sports with his friends, hang out with friends, fight with his little brothers, go to Garden City to see his family, and sleep. His favorite color is green; he likes green because it’s a cool color. Gaby’s favorite TV show is Sponge Bob because he likes his laugh, Patrick is in it, and he is funny. Gaby’s favorite subject is Spanish because he already speaks Spanish, it’s easy, and he likes that class a lot. |
