Earlier I talked about fast food restaurants and what they are ranked upon each other as far as money and business goes. I only said the top six restaurants and so now let's finish the countdown with the top five.
Starting at number five is Burger King or BK, making $8.4 billion in the U.S. in 2011 out of 7,231 restaurants in America. Although they are ranked fifth in this list, they are ranked third in competition for the top fast food burger restaurant in the nation. Though their sales dropped by 4% and the chain was passed to the next restaurant on this list.
In 2011 Wendy’s made $8.5 billion with 5,876 locations. Their sales increased by 2% due to hard charging. Because they revamped their marketing, they are now the number two in the nation in the burger industry.
With 10,787 stores in America, our number three spot is making $9.75 billion. Which store is this? Well, when people want coffee where do they go? That’s right, Starbucks. Starbucks’ profits surged by 7.5% in 2010 even after they opened 300 more locations. They still have 3,800 more stores open than Dunkin’ Donuts.
In the number two spot is the eat fresh sandwich shop, Subway. Making $11.4 billion in 2011 with only 24,722 stores open. When their sales went up 7.5%, they decided to open up 872 new stores.
The number one fast food restaurant in America is, of course, McDonald’s. Making a whopping $34.2 billion in 2011 with only 14,098 stores open, McDonald’s saw a 5% sale increase. With this, they decided to open up 71 new locations.
I want to thank businessinsider.com for the information that was needed to rank these powerful restaurants. Just remember that this is the opinion of others, so go and try them yourself.
