Book by Claudia Lefeve
What if you had the opportunity to have a family and be loved, but you don’t know if it’s real. Would you take that opportunity? In Parallel the main character got a second chance for what she wanted.
This girl moved from home to home; no one wanted her. Etta is 17 years old, and she got kicked out of her last home, so they sent her to Dominion, where all unwanted kids go to live. While at Dominion, she was being followed by a boy Cooper. One day she went up to him, and they talked. Cooper told her that she doesn’t belong here; One day and that this wasn’t her world, that she has a family.
Etta was happy and confused, but she didn’t know if she believed him. She knew she was different; she could make people do things with her mind. So she trusted Cooper, and they went to a different reality.
Then Cooper told her the real reason he brought her home, and it was because she is the only one who can find her father. He is a very smart scientist and recently went missing.
So Etta is trying to live this life and act like she has been in this reality her whole life. She is so lost and confused. But she is determined to find her father.
Etta goes through many troubles; she is slowing learning to control her powers and trying to learn about all of her abilities. One night she was kidnapped. Using her abilities, she was able to get help and find her father.
The ending of the book is how happy; she is to have a family and feel loved. She still has people after her and the guy, who brought her home, ends up being her husband in the future.
There are two more books in this series. I liked this book because a girl who had nothing ended up having everything she ever wanted. The author could have made the book longer and explained more instead of rushing into things, but I still liked this book; it was a little bit of a love story at the end. So if you are looking for something different to read, this book is a book that you can read.
